The guidance here has been researched by PhunkyFoods in response to questions from many schools and LA’s who are seeking to fund the PhunkyFoods programme. Although these funding options are applicable to all schools each school does have individual criteria so please check with your own school / LA to check for eligibility.
Local authorities may choose to directly fund the PhunkyFoods programme on behalf of their schools taking advantage of central LA discounts using funding from School Meals 105a.
Alternatively LA’s or PCT’s can take advantage of our Kick Start programme. This allows an LA / PCT to buy the PhunkyFoods programme on behalf of the schools in their area. This is an extremely useful way to get schools engaged in a healthy eating initiative. The LA / PCT would purchase one year of the programme with the schools taking on further financing.
For only £4059 (+ VAT) the LA Kick Start includes

Melody Williams, Head of Health Improvement for Children and Young People at South West Essex PCT
"We are proud to be the first PCT working with the Local Authority in the UK to take the lead in helping to address childhood obesity in this way. The model has the potential to be rolled out across the country and we’re very interested in exploring the outcomes as the project progresses. It’s a great way of getting schools and individual teachers working together to help address the growing issue of childhood obesity".
"PhunkyFoods has amassed a strong track record in delivering real health benefits without placing undue pressure on teachers or the curriculum and we look forward to reaping the benefits of the programme.
