We joined the Purely Nutrition team to gain more experience working in the field and wanted the opportunity to teach children about how to cook healthy, nutritious meals. Over the Easter holidays we were a part of the team which travelled around Wiltshire teaching children aged 4-14 about the importance of nutrition. Along with this we taught them how to make a rainbow burger made with chickpeas from scratch at a low cost. It is an extremely rewarding experience seeing children leave with smiles on their faces and with the food they are excited to take home.
The children that took part gained vital nutritional knowledge and improved cookery skills which they can implement at home. Overall, we enjoyed the experience and are looking forward to taking part in future HAF camps.
