We are looking to expand our team with a motivated team member who would work with primary schools across Buckinghamshire. Working as part of an established team and supported by the head office team, located in Marlow, the role will be home based with travel into schools in the locality. A valid UK driving licence and access to a car is essential for this position.
Your role will be to support local primary schools engaged in our health education programme, PhunkyFoods (www.phunkyfoods.co.uk). The programme has been commissioned by Buckinghamshire Council until July 2028. Full training will be given, but knowledge and experience of working with schools, or in health improvement and/or food preparation is beneficial. The role is very varied and will include masses of job satisfaction, where you will be able to offer practical help to schools, planning their health activities and facilitating healthy lifestyle workshops, and food preparation sessions. The successful candidate will demonstrate a proactive approach to work and the ability to work independently, alongside exceptional organisational and communication skills.
Duties
- Build strong relationships with partner primary schools across Buckinghamshire, developing an understanding of their ethos and values, and supporting the implementation of the PhunkyFoods Programme across 20 Buckinghamshire primary schools.
- Work with partner primary schools to audit their current healthy school’s activity and to co-produce action plans for implementation of the PhunkyFoods Programme.
- Train school staff in the curriculum and classroom-based elements of the PhunkyFoods Programme and help coach and model the programme in situ to encourage the uptake and sustainability of the programme.
- Facilitate student led healthy lifestyle activities, extra-curricular activities and parent engagement activities across Buckinghamshire partner primary schools.
- Record/report school contacts and activities and aid with data collection of case studies and other evaluation activities, acting as the liaison between the Company and our partner primary schools for data collection purposes.
- Facilitate local partnership working and stakeholder engagement opportunities.
Requirements
- Proven experience in the primary school environment is essential.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively and run your own diary.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a keen attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Salary: Starting at £13.50 per hour (PAYE), 24 hours/week. Please note this position is TERM TIME ONLY. The role is extremely flexible and as you will oversee your own diary, you are able to work the days/hours you chose.
