Snack Attack
This term we will be working closely with our partners at PhunkyFoods to showcase their Snack Attack message to the children. This message highlights the importance of choosing healthy snacks using the eatwell guide to fulfil a child’s energy requirements.
It is important for children to meet their energy demands for the day. To do this, some children will need a snack between meals and this is a positive opportunity to encourage healthier choices. The Eatwell Guide is a great tool that can be used to plan snacks for your family, in the same way that we would to plan a main meal. Evidence shows that many children are eating around 4 high sugar snacks a day, which has a negative impact on health. Therefore, it is important to make good snack choices at the right time of day to prevent children being too full to eat their main meals.
We will be doing some work in school with the children around healthy eating (INCLUDE/INSERT ANY PLANNED ACTIONS HERE E.G. ASSEMBLY OR AMBASSADORS WORK, ANY REWARDS BASED INITIATIVES).
